Kurt Westley
blind spot
by the naked eye it wasn’t a classic ’67 Mustang or Khrushchev’s ‘trash heap of history’
overtaking yet every fearful premonition simply hurtled into heedless horizon chasing
but an itchy angel wing jittered my default option again towards the omnipresent mirror
a final look back no one’s there look ahead no one’s there only a thumb-a-ride Reaper
sightless but still scavenging ‘visions’ while swinging a glaring scythe into a blinding sunset
